If there was a pithier title, we’d use one. But predictability is out, uncertainty is in. The "rules” that applied in trade, international affairs, in society are shifting and core assumptions are no longer solid. Whether this is good or bad isn’t relevant to this talk, tools to navigate team through uncertainty are the focus.
In a conversational style we walk through three phases. We start with the conceptual framework of rules (rights and responsibilities) and the distinctions between the individual, the role, and the office of the role. Then we move onto maintaining balance for the you, the leader - how to contextualize the operating environment, build a flexible working model for decisions. Finally, techniques for teams as they wrangle with uncertain futures - maintaining focus on the mission, compartmentalizing distractions, and confronting fears.
